| Introduction The Japanese Society for Virology (JSV) handles the personal information to supply services/information to the Society members. The JSV will appropriately handle the information, in compliance with laws and regulations regarding the protection of personal information. 1.Acquisition of the Personal Information. The JSV will properly obtain personal information without any false and fraudulent measures. 2.Use of the Personal Information. The JSV will use the personal information to accomplish the following purposes. In cases that we necessarily use the information for other purposes, we will obtain agreements from the individuals in advance. 3.Secure Management of the Personal Information. The JSV will take all necessary and appropriate measures to prevent leakage, loss and damage of the personal information and other measures required for secure management of the information. 4.Consignment of the Personal Information. In case that the JSV needs to consign a third party all or part of the management of the personal information, the JSV will investigate strictly and supervise necessarily and appropriately the relevant third party so that the personal information will be securely managed. 5.Provision of the Personal Information to a Third Party. The JSV will not provide the personal information to a third party without obtaining agreements in advance from the relevant individuals, except for the information that is prescribed by laws including the Personal Information Protection Law. 6.Disclosure and Correction of the Personal Infomation. The JSV will promptly disclose the personal information of a member’s on requests from the person in question. In case that the JSV cannot confirm that the requester is the person in question, we will not disclosure the information. If the personal information of a member’s contains an error, after an investigation, we will promptly correct, add or delete the information on requests from the person in question. In case that the JSV cannot confirm that the requester is the person in question, we will not accept the request.
